A specialist orthodontist and the driving force behind our practice, Katherine established Dorchester Orthodontic Clinic in 2005. Starting with a single room within another dental practice, her dedication and expertise led to significant growth. By 2008, the practice’s success necessitated a move to our current location, a beautifully redesigned Victorian building now housing four surgeries – a testament to Katherine’s vision.
She has taken immense pride in the practice’s evolution and the growth of our dedicated team, which includes long-standing members who continually enhance their skills alongside newer colleagues.
For Katherine, a particularly rewarding aspect of her work is the opportunity to discuss potential smile improvements with patients and to meticulously plan the optimal path to achieve their desired results. This process, and the resulting confidence it brings to her patients, provides her with great professional satisfaction.
Outside of the practice, Katherine enjoys adventures on the road, exploring new destinations in her campervan accompanied by her seven-year-old.
A specialist orthodontist, Shahin has been a valued member of our practice since 2018, bringing a wealth of expertise to our team. He is particularly passionate about the entire patient journey, finding immense satisfaction in working closely with individuals from their initial consultation through to the unveiling of their final, confident smiles.
Beyond his dedication to creating beautiful smiles, Shahin enjoys exploring his culinary skills, dining out at restaurants, indulging in a spot of shopping, and discovering new cultures through travel. With a love for animals and gardening, he also cherishes spending quality time with his friends and family.
A cornerstone of our team since 2004, Emma brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the practice. Her commitment to professional development is evident in her extensive training across various aspects of dentistry and orthodontics. This includes qualifications in radiography, orthodontic nursing, and dental nursing, as well as expertise in Invisalign treatment.
In 2012, Emma furthered her qualifications by earning a diploma in Orthodontic Therapy from the esteemed Bristol Dental Hospital.
Emma finds particular joy in working directly with patients throughout their orthodontic journey, witnessing firsthand the transformative power of a new smile and the boost in confidence it brings.
Beyond her dedication to the practice, Emma enjoys an active social life, whether it’s cheering on her favourite football team, relaxing at her caravan, catching up with friends over a glass of cider, walking her dog in the countryside, or staying fit at the gym.
Aimee is a highly skilled Orthodontic Therapist, and earned her Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2020. Her extensive qualifications also include Radiography NEBDN and Oral Health Education – BDA. Having been with the practice since 2006, she adores interacting with patients and is passionate about making a profound, positive impact on their dental health, overall well-being, and confidence. She finds immense joy in transforming smiles, enabling a lifetime of laughter free from self-consciousness.
Outside of her professional life, she leads an active and creative lifestyle. Her interests include hiking, writing, photography, paddleboarding, and fitness at the gym. She also enjoys cooking and baking, finds fulfillment in fundraising, and cherishes her role as a mum. Her dedication to community extends to her past volunteer work as a youth worker and at a local food bank.
Kimberly has been an integral part of our practice since 2013, holding qualifications as a dental nurse, radiographer, and oral health educator. She has a natural ability to connect with patients, putting them at ease with her friendly demeanor. Kimberly finds immense satisfaction in following patients’ treatment journeys, from the initial stages through to the final, confident smiles.
Beyond her dedication to the practice, Kimberly cherishes time spent with family and friends, enjoys invigorating walks, and is also a keen surfer, embracing the coastal lifestyle.
Emily possesses qualifications in NEBDN Dental Nursing, Dental Radiography, and Orthodontic Nursing. Her career began with studies in Level 2 and 3 Beauty Therapy at Bournemouth College. She became a permanent member of the practice in January 2019, having previously contributed for six months as an agency worker.
She is deeply passionate about supporting patients through their orthodontic journey, particularly appreciating the visible transformations and the increased confidence it brings.
Beyond her professional life, she is a keen runner, participating in weekend park runs, and has a strong affinity for international travel, earning her the nickname “Emily Air Miles” from her colleagues. She also highly values socialising with friends.
Tammy is a dedicated dental nurse, holding an NVQ Level 3 in dental nursing and an NEBDN certificate in orthodontic dental nursing. She thrives on the variety and excitement each day brings to her role and finds immense joy in witnessing the delight of patients as they see their beautiful, newly transformed smiles.
A valued team member for over a year, Tammy appreciates the strong camaraderie among her colleagues and genuinely looks forward to coming to work each day.
Outside of the practice, Tammy is an adventurous mum to her two daughters, with whom she enjoys camping trips, playing football, and fun games. She is also a qualified gymnastics activity instructor, and embraces the invigorating experience of sea swimming. In her downtime, Tammy enjoys relaxing, spending quality time with friends, and savouring caramel lattes at local cafes.
Lucy has been a valued member of our practice since 2023, bringing a diverse skillset gained after her move from Oxford. Qualified as a dental nurse and radiographer. Lucy is particularly passionate about empowering patients by helping them achieve confident smiles.
When she’s not at the practice, Lucy enjoys staying active through running, cultivating her green fingers in the garden, and spending quality time walking her family dogs. She also has a keen interest in exploring new places through travel.
Anita, who graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in 2019, joined our clinic in June 2024 and is a valued member of our team. She finds genuine pleasure in her role, particularly in meeting and assisting patients, ensuring their experience is comfortable and positive.
Beyond the clinic, Anita is an enthusiastic theatre and show-goer, has a deep appreciation for music, and enjoys the simple pleasures of walking and reading.
Tawny joined our practice in April 2025 and holds a National Diploma in Dental Nursing, NEBDN Smiles Dental Training, and has also completed dental radiography training. She is already finding great satisfaction in her role, particularly in witnessing the joyful reactions of patients as they see their newly straightened and beautiful smiles.
Tawny is also enthusiastic about embracing opportunities to learn new aspects of dentistry and further develop her expertise.
Outside of the practice, Tawny enjoys expressing her creativity through crafts, with a special interest in embroidery and cross-stitch. She also has a passion for travel and an appreciation for the world of cars and aeroplanes, particularly enjoying car shows, air shows, and admiring modified vehicles and mechanics.
Mair has been a dedicated and valued member of our team since 2024, having moved back to the area after 30 years of being away. She brings a wealth of experience in dentistry, which spans back to 1997, and a focus in orthodontics since 2012. Qualified as both a dental nurse and dental radiographer, Mair particularly appreciates the collaborative spirit of our efficient team.
She finds immense joy in witnessing the moment patients’ braces are removed, revealing their final smiles and validating their orthodontic journey.
With a warm and empathetic approach, Mair excels at supporting nervous patients and has extensive experience working with both children and adults who have complex needs. Her commitment lies in ensuring everyone can achieve their best possible smile.
Outside of the practice, Mair enjoys the tranquility of gardening, delving into a good book, engaging in stimulating quizzes, exploring the nuances of wine, and, most importantly cherishing time spent with her family.
Stacey is a highly skilled member of our team, holding a diploma in dental nursing and a Level 3 QCF City & Guilds qualification. As a qualified oral health educator and dental radiographer, she plays a vital role in patient care.
Stacey particularly enjoys building rapport with patients and guiding them through every step of their dental journey, culminating in the joy of seeing their new smiles.
Annie joined our practice in 2022 and is an enthusiastic member of the team. She finds great satisfaction in collaborating with her colleagues and assisting our wonderful patients.
Prior to joining us, Annie shared her passion for the slopes as a ski instructor in Austria. Outside of work, she enjoys indulging her creative side through baking, with a particular talent for crafting beautiful cakes and pastries for special occasions. She also appreciates the tranquility of countryside walks.
Kirsty joined our practice in February 2025 and holds a BA Hons in Business & Management from Anglia Ruskin University. She brings enthusiasm to her role, particularly enjoying the organisation of our open days and TCO (Treatment Co-ordinator) days.
Kirsty is driven by the satisfaction of expanding access to our services for as many individuals as possible and is a valued member of our team, dedicated to providing the best patient experience.
Outside of the practice, Kirsty is an avid walker, with a special fondness for the landscapes of her home county, Shropshire. A keen reader with a preference for fiction, she also boasts a qualification as a fitness instructor, though these days her fitness pursuits are for personal enjoyment at the gym.
Emese joined the practice in May 2025, quickly proving to be an invaluable team member. Her professional background as a qualified teacher, coupled with a degree in psychology, equips her to effectively engage with and support patients daily. She enjoys the inherent dynamism of a receptionist’s role, embracing new challenges and gaining satisfaction from overcoming them while providing excellent patient service.
Outside of work, Emese is a voracious reader, enjoying a wide range of books. Her leisure activities include seaside walks, meditation, yoga, and visiting adventure parks. She also has a passion for exploring diverse cuisines and cultures, both through dining experiences and virtual travel via Google.
